I’m Garrus Vakarian, And this is my favorite beer on the Citadel!
Videogames are filled with some very distinct voices, but did you know the actors who provide them do work outside of your favorite game? Strangely enough it’s true! Take, for example, this clip from the movie “He’s just not that into you”.
If you’re a fan of Bioware’s shooter/RPG series Mass Effect, you may recognize the voice of the business man drinking in that scene as none other than Garrus Vakarian - Turian sniper extraordinaire.
The man behind the voice is Brandon Keener, and his acting credits range from movies, to TV shows, to commercials, and yes, videogames.
Ever wondered what Garrus sounds like advertising for Bud Light? Well wonder no more! Or here you can see Mr. Kenner as a guest star on the TV show The Pacific.
Garrus has always been one of my favorite characters in the Mass Effect universe, do in no small part to the voicework done by Mr. Keener, so to hear Garrus’s distinct, gravely tones in other works was a real treat for me. For your further enjoyment, here’s the man behind Garrus saving money by switching to Geico, getting up to trouble in Vegas, and suffering the fallout of hitting a pinata-man in a misguided attempt to get skittles.
In addition to his credentials as an actor, Brandon has also done additional voices for games like Everquest II and the Saint’s Row series. So hats off to Brandon Keener and other hard working actors who bring some of our favorite videogame characters to life!
